Frequently Asked Questions
ABA Services
How will ABA therapy help my child? How can I help them make progress?
ABA therapy is used to teach a wide variety of skills that are tailored to the needs of the individual. These skills may include, but are not limited to, social skills, communication, play skills, school readiness, functional living skills (e.g., bathing, brushing teeth), behavior management, and much more.
Caregiver involvement is a core component of ABA therapy and is required monthly at minimum. Caregiver training sessions are essential to teach your child how to generalize their skills across different settings and people. Our BCBAs are here to support you and your child every step of the way.
Does my child need an autism diagnosis to receive ABA therapy?
An autism diagnosis is not required to receive ABA treatment. However, in order to receive coverage from insurance providers, a formal, medical diagnosis of autism is required as well as an updated diagnostic evaluation every 2-3 years.
Will my insurance cover ABA therapy?
Most likely! We are in-network with most private insurance providers, and ABA is typically a covered benefit. One of the first steps of our intake process includes verifying your coverage and reviewing that information with you.

Diagnostics Services
What does the diagnostic evaluation consist of?
The process begins with verification and review of your insurance benefits, followed by completion of several caregiver questionnaires, and a thorough background history. Next, we will conduct the direct testing portion of the evaluation and complete a report summarizing the evaluation and findings. Once the report is complete, we will schedule a feedback session to review the results and recommendations.
How long does the evaluation take?
Depending on the specific needs of your child, the direct testing can range between 3 to 8 hours.
What if I think my child may have other diagnoses?
In addition to evaluations for autism, our licensed clinical psychologist may also evaluate for other neurodevelopmental diagnoses (e.g., ADHD, intellectual disability), as well as mental health diagnoses (e.g., depression, anxiety).
When will I receive the results of the evaluation?
Once the direct testing portion is completed, you will receive the diagnostic report within about 2 weeks.
